PM Marape Opens Trans National Highway – Port Moresby to Lae Road Now Within Reach
Connect PNG program: August 29th, 2025 - Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea Hon. James Marape, MP officially opening the Trans National Highway linking Lae into Port Moresby progressive works with only last 6km of brown field ( existing track) at Kotidanga LLG in Kerema before a four wheel drive can actually make a drive thru. CONNECT-PNG PROGRAM is at work and the Prime Minister has officially announced his intention to drive from Port Moresby to Lae in December 2025. This will be the first Prime Minister to actually take this road trip. This trip was organized by Department of Works and Highways to commemorate the 50th Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration, turning 50years since 1975.
