Transforming Papua New Guinea’s National Road Network
The Highways Management Wing of the Department of Works and Highways (DoWH) serves as the operational pillar for implementing major highway projects and managing the national road network. Through its strategic focus on developing, upgrading, and maintaining highways, the wing plays a pivotal role in driving national connectivity, economic growth, and social integration.
Aligned with national priorities such as the National Road Network Strategy (NRNS) and the Connect PNG Program, the wing integrates innovative approaches, climate resilience, and robust contractor management to deliver sustainable infrastructure.
