Acting Secretary for the Department of Works and Highways Mr. Gibson Holemba has labelled the recent circulation of a document pertaining to payments made to certain named companies under the Connect PNG Program as false, fabricated and inaccurate.
Mr. Holemba says this information is not only false but totally misleading.
We haven't paid any claims in relation to Yellow Palm Ltd or Hela Travelers Ltd, etc.
This warrant document is not from DoWH as it has letterhead belonging to the Commerce and Industry Department.
The K90 million warrant is currently being used to pay outstanding payments for major Connect PNG Projects working between Wutung to East Cape, Highlands Highway, New Britain Highway, and other major missing link projects.
Mr. Holemba says politicans must not use the Connect PNG program for their political point scoring.
People on the opposite side are looking for means to discredit the Marape-Rosso Government flagship Connect PNG Program.
I am totally in control of the expenditure of the K90 million warrant, and I have the full list of payments made out of the warrant. Even IFMS is a centralized system, and no payment of such was made.
He further adds that since he assumed office he is fully aware of the situation in relation to the Connect PNG Program and its legacy issues.
"I am managing the situation and guarantee that nothing silly will happen in regarding to payment of claims under the Connect PNG."
"Let's not worry about these social media fanatics as they have no other credible evidence to discredit the government program, and they are crafting social media post to attack hardworking public servants at the Department of Works and Highways."
