Kindeng to Nunga Road Contract and Sepik Highway Contract between Wewak and Maprik Town in East Sepik Province

H.E. Grand Chief Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, has executed on behalf of the State, two significant highway road projects for Western Highlands and Jiwaka provinces, and East and West Sepik provinces.
The construction of Kindeng to Nunga Economic Commodity Road covers 18.1km section, under the Connect PNG Program.
The contract is valued at K72, 994, 738.50, inclusive of GST, and will be fully funded by the State.
The National Executive Council has awarded the contract to Wopa Construction PNG Limited. Foty-percent (40%) of the contract value is subject to local content policy of mobilizing local labourers as workforce, and materials.
Wopa Construction PNG Limited company representatives Fred Wak and Gerry Kerry signed the contract before the Governor General and acting Secretary of Department of Works and Highways, Gibson Holemba.
The Governor General has also executed a contract for long-term maintenance on the East Sepik Highway from Passam to Karaitem in Sandaun province.
The section of the highway covers 253.279km.
The contract is valued at K83, 491, 883. 34, inclusive of GST, and will be wholly funded by the National Government.
The National Executive Council has awarded the contract to China Shenyang International Corporation.
Company representatives Zhang Zehao and Gong Yi Ning signed the contract before the Governor General and Department of Works and Highways acting Secretary Gibson Holemba at Government House this morning.
