Media Officers undergoing training on Website Publication

Since the launching of the revamped website back in December of 2024, the Administration and Management function of the Website lied with the Developer. This functional responsibility would soon be transferred to the department, and this is expected to take place in the 2nd Quarter of this year. Principle Engineers and Officers from the Media Unit undertook a two-day Training on the Content Management System.

Department of Works and Highways is one of the largest institutions of state with offices spanning the entire breadth and width of this country. Multi-activities take place every day, everywhere but stories about all these good works are not being told. It is about dissemination of information in real time. Whatever happens today, it must be told.

Apart from the ConnectPNG, which is the current government’s flagship program, and efforts are being made to inform the mass about the progress of Works that are being implemented, a lot of other Activities also take place behind the scene and it is through this platform that we will also broadcast the performances of our Branches and Divisions.

The Department’s Information and Communication Branch will be the Administrator of the Website, with 4 Content Writers, representing each region and each Wing. Stories will be shared from all 21 Provinces, including Head Quarters, with Validation, Approval and Publishing all done inhouse.

The technological world is ever shifting, and the department is committed to this medium of communication.
